This progress update details the management and initial disbursement of the Support Fund.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Within 24 hours of the tragedy, HKCSS launched the Support Fund for Tai Po Wang Fuk Court through the Caring Company Scheme, establishing an online crowdfunding channel to facilitate corporate donations. The response has been significant; as of 28 January 2026, a total of HK$23,406,142 was received through this initiative. To ensure maximum impact, HKCSS is <strong>charging no administrative fees to the fund<\/strong>. Furthermore, HKCSS has fully absorbed the <strong>2.3% credit card administrative fees<\/strong> for the e-donation platform, ensuring every dollar donated is dedicated to relief and recovery. While the online platform handled over 570 transactions before closing on 31 December 2025, additional donations continue to be received offline.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To ensure the ethical and effective use of contributions, a dual-layer governance structure was established:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Internal Review Committee:<\/strong> Responsible for fund oversight and final approval of all proposals. Members include Hon Bernard Chan, GBM, GBS, JP; Dr Kennedy Liu; and Hon Grace Chan Man-yee, Chief Executive of HKCSS.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Community Development Expert Group:<\/strong> Comprising agency heads and social service specialists, this group provides strategic advice on the community\u2019s recovery journey.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The first phase of support focuses on immediate aid. HKCSS has entered into Grant Agreements with <strong>five<\/strong> partner NGOs, allocating <strong>HK$2,465,000<\/strong>\u00a0to benefit an estimated <strong>500<\/strong> households.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Partner NGOs\u2014including <em>Side by Side<\/em>, <em>Society for Community Organisation<\/em>, <em>Evangelical Lutheran Church Social Service<\/em>, <em>Baptist Charis Social Service Limited<\/em>, and the <em>Hong Kong Federation of Women\u2019s Centres<\/em>\u2014are providing a range of services:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Emergency housing and relocation arrangements.<\/li>\n<li>Mental health support and grief counselling.<\/li>\n<li>Family needs support, such as childcare and caregiver assistance.<\/li>\n<li>Matching of essential supplies and services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The second phase of the fund will target post-disaster recovery, including assistance for transitional housing, rehousing logistics, and specialised grief support such as 3D facial reconstruction printing services.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>HKCSS will release updates every two months to keep stakeholders informed of fund usage, the remaining balance, and long-term recovery plans for the Tai Po community. We thank all donors for their trust as we work together to support the recovery and psychosocial well-being of the affected families.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The next update will be issued in April
